One of my good friends and a member of my Royal Pack, Sylvie Dog, is trying to raise $1,000 for Orphans of the Storm, the organization that rescued her. The Queen’s first dog, Sweetie, was rescued from Orphans of the Storm, so this organization holds a special place in her heart.
I donated $1 because I am a dog who doesn’t have a lot of extra cash lying around. Every $1 helps, though! How much will you donate?

Together with PetFinder.com, the Animal Rescue Site is giving away $100,000 to animal shelters! To vote for your favorite shelter, go to the voting page and search for your favorite rescue. Voting started today and goes until July 26th. You can vote once a day, so you can vote for different shelters each day, or give lots of votes to one!
I voted for the Austin Humane Society, as Sophie and I are both from there. Who will you vote for?

Round Rock has a page on their city website that features shelter pets! How cool is that? They get two paws up from me!
All animals, big and small, are welcome to join my pack, as long as they have an adoption story, volunteer experience, or charitable organization to share with the world! The point of my Royal Pack is to spread the word about rescue animals and organizations/efforts that help animals in need.
I have started taking requests to join my Royal Pack. So far 11 animals have asked to join! Once you submit a request, the Queen and I review it and let you know if you’ve been accepted into the pack. If you are accepted (which 99.9% of anipals are), you will be asked to provide us with a biography and photos to go on your very own page at DukeRichard.com. However, the best part about being accepted into my Royal Pack is that you get a Royal Title! You can pick your own, or we will bestow one upon you =).
Lastly, I am thinking about having a contest to get a new logo/web banner. The Queen did her very best to make one, but she is not very artistic or savvy with graphic design. So, to all my artsy friends out there, please vote in the poll below!
That’s all for now. The Queen has off tomorrow, so she’s hoping to get some animal pages up in the Royal Pack.

After another disappointing loss in the Spike’s Pack voting yesterday, I’ve decided to start my own Royal Pack!
Everything is still in the very early organizational stages, but I now have my own website! Please feel free to check out www.dukerichard.com. I will post more information about the Royal Pack in the coming weeks.

Yes, winners, plural. Originally there was only going to be one winner, but SO many animals participated and they all did such a wonderful job, I’ve decided to choose a grand prize winner and a runner up! The grand prize winner will get $20 in prizes and the runner up will get $10 in prizes.
First, I’d like to thank @emmythecat and @fergusthedog for helping me judge. It was a long and tedious process (thanks to Twitter exploding last night), but our decisions were UNANIMOUS! How often does that happen?
Without further ado…
First Runner Up – @PerrytheBirman!
And, the moment you’ve all been waiting for!
The Grand Prize Winner – @LacyDog!
All three judges were greatly impressed with Lacy’s bunny pose – it really made the bling picture stand out.
Thank you to ALL who participated. It was great fun seeing all the animals dressed up! I’ll leave you with a list of honorable mentions – those who made it to the final round of judging:
